DESCRIPTION:Join local bat expert Tina for an evening of discovery as we head into the wetlands to learn about Pekapeka tou roa – New Zealand’s long-tailed bats.\n\nWe’ll begin with a short introduction to these fascinating nocturnal creatures, then set out at dusk to listen for their high-frequency calls using bat detectors. Along the way, Tina will share stories from her years of tracking bats throughout Waitākere, and New Zealand.\n\nPekapeka are classed as Nationally Critical.
