An Evening Under the Stars with Annette Lees

This intimate gathering will take place deep in the bush at Matuku Link, where a select group of guests will be led down a dimly lit path into the night, seated around glowing braziers, and immersed in the enchantment of the natural world.

With fine drink in hand and a selection of gourmet canapés, you will experience a bespoke presentation personally crafted by Annette Lees. Twice long-listed for the NZ Ockham Book Awards, Annette is an acclaimed writer, strategist, conservationist, and local Te Henga resident. She will share readings from her books, including passages drawn from her time at Matuku Link, and offer a rare glimpse into her current writing project.

Each guest will receive a personally signed copy of After Dark, a book that beautifully captures the mystery and magic of the night:

Your $150 ticket includes a drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available), a selection of gourmet canapés, and a personally signed copy of After Dark. More than just an evening of literary enchantment, your ticket also contributes directly to Matuku Link’s ongoing conservation and education efforts, helping to protect and restore our precious natural environment.
