Aileen Sweeney – Educator

 

Aileen is an ecologist with a passion for education and community outreach. While she loves being out in the field researching fascinating critters, nothing makes her happier than engaging people with their local environment and getting them excited about what’s right on their doorstep. There is magic to be found even in the smallest of green spaces after all!

 

After completing a PhD at the University of Auckland, she worked in environmental education and technical fieldwork across the Auckland region. This role helped her to discover her love for nature extends beyond the limits of academia. Aileen is excited to be part of this wonderful team and can’t wait to spend as much time as possible exploring all the wonders Matuku Link has to offer.
