What a day… a bright summer day in Spring, with all of our funders, friends, supporters, volunteers to celebrate the opening of our accessible bridge and walkway, by our very own Minister of Conservation and Disability Issues Poto Williams! Trustee John Staniland did a great job as MC, trustee John Sumich highlighted the importance of wetland protection legislation and Shaz, Paul and Doris tested the accessibility of our walkway and paths, expertly made by our Jobs4Nature team Devon, Denis and Jeff.
Super stoked to have the minister here, and I think she and her crew enjoyed it as well. She cut the flax ribbon with a special ‘shark’ – a flax knife engraved for the occasion, with a number of jokes about weeding and parliamentarians flying around in the audience!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this project what it is today – if you’re one of our funders, you might even discover your name on our sponsor board 😉
Enjoy the beautiful pictures our professional voluntary photographer Stefan Marks made to give you an impression (or reminder) of the day.
Nga mihi mahana, Annalily
