Our volunteers seem to like our working bees (or the donated Nice Blocks ice creams, or the shared lunch): almost two dozen showed up to help us with cleaning up after the storm, clearing the grass from the plants, constructing the nursery and many more tasks. The fact it we’ve had beautiful weather each time we’re out at Matuku Link, certainly helps! Or are our resident eels the main attraction?

Whatever it is, a big “thank you” to all of you who came along, and there is another opportunity to join us: next week Sunday the 20th of May, start time 10 am as usual (although some eager beavers were there already at 8.30 am) until 1 pm, followed by a shared lunch (optional). No public transport unfortunately but ample parking spots, and the opportunity to go to the beach afterwards. Let us know if you’ve got any questions, otherwise just turn up at 111 Bethells Road, with suitable gear (sunscreen and/or rain coats) and sturdy footwear.

This Sunday we’ll be potting up plants, finalizing the nursery, rediscover and release more plants… if there is anything you specifically like to do, drop us a line.

Hope to see you there! – Annalily & the trustees
