Our volunteers seem to like our working bees, the shared lunch or the chance to walk around bare chested: whatever it is, you can join us! We usually try to see an eel, or some of our resident pateke might come and say hello. Tui song and flittering visits from our fantails are guaranteed!
Next date: 25th November. We might even squash a working bee in before Christmas, but we haven’t decided yet…
The usual working bees are on the Third Sunday of the month, starting at 10 am at 111 Bethells Road, opposite the Bethells Fire Station, park on site. We work until around 1 pm, then have a shared lunch if you have time to join us, for the social part of the day. Or if it is nice weather, bring your togs or surfboard and go to the beautiful black sand beach of Te Henga, just five minutes down the road.
Let us know if you’ve got any questions, otherwise just turn up at Matuku Link, with suitable gear (sunscreen and/or rain coats) and sturdy footwear (and something to share for lunch if you want).
This Sunday we’ll be potting up plants, finalizing the nursery, rediscover and release more plants… if there is anything you specifically like to do, drop us a line.
Hope to see you there! – Annalily & the trustees
