Thanks to all our volunteers at the first working bee of 2019! Five new volunteers (one a nine year old grandchild) and fifteen ‘old hands’ did a great job in clearing weeds, filling holes with gravel and stones, joyriding at the back of the trailer (don’t tell OSH!), potting up plants and…having lunch ;). The day started with a bit of drizzle, the first of the week so our plants were jumping from joy, even though we weren’t. It cleared not long after and we were all dried and even back to t-shirts and shorts within no-time. Everything to make the place look good for our Open Day in two weeks time.

Our latest lunch spot is made from pallets and old bricks, around the kanuka in front of the barn, and proved to be an inspirational spot (with our intern Juan from Colombia doing some deep thinking, Rodin-style).

It was again lovely to share time with everyone and hear the holiday stories. Our next highlight will be our Open Day for World Wetland Day on 2nd of February!

Hope to see you there! – Annalily & the trustees
