Wanting to get fit? “Enjoy nature” or “Learn more about native plants”” on your New Years’ resolution list? Or would you like good company and a way to give back to the environment and your community? All of the reasons above, and many more, should lead to you joining our Third Sunday Working Bees at Matuku Link.
- 21st January
- 18th February
- 18th March
- 15th April
All are from 10 am to 1 pm, at Matuku Link, 111 Bethells Road, followed by a shared lunch for those who like to join in.
Ample parking available. The program will depend on the weather, the season and the participants, but will always revolve around nursery work, looking after the plants already in the field (releasing, staking, infill planting, etc), plant and animal pest control if needed, and general maintenance. There is always something to do on this 37 hectare property!
We can find jobs for all skill levels, ages and levels of fitness: just let us know you’re coming so we know how many cups of tea to make at the lunch. 021-2207136 or matukulink@gmail.com
Looking forward to seeing you there!
P.S. If you can’t do Sundays, but want to come along: there are usually other opportunities as well. Please contact us so we know if we’ll have enough enthusiasm for a weekday or Saturday working bee as well.
